They managed to overrun the defending Imperial forces and take the camp before retreating to avoid incoming TIE/sa bombers.
Prelude
The Alliance to Restore the Republic's Sixty-First Mobile Infantry launched a campaign on Coyerti in 3 ABY during the Alliance's Mid Rim Retreat. The campaign had multiple objectives: the first was to protect the Coyerti species during their breeding season; the second was to affect the Galactic Empire's bioweapon production on Coyerti; the third was to create an additional distraction to assist the Alliance Fleet's retreat from the Mid Rim.[1]
The battle
Two squads, led by First Sergeant Hazram Namir and Sergeant Zab, respectively, were deployed to locate and destroy Imperial scout post, which had been established to provide logistical support to the Empire's ongoing offensive against the Coyerti.[1]
Having discussed their strategy prior to the mission, Namir's squad, provided covering fire for the second squad's direct assault. Early on in the attack, Besalisk Gadren, from Namir's squad, charged through with his blaster cannon. An Imperial grenadier almost killed the Besalisk but, luckily for Gadren, the grenade did not detonate. Namir led Roach to cover the others and two of Zab's men supported Gadren at the center of the camp to keep the Imperials from grouping up. After an intense ten minutes of combat, the camp was taken. Although Zab requested that Twilight Company requisition the speeder bikes that remained at the base, Namir stated that they would likely have homing beacons attached, and therefore would give away their location. Shortly after destroying the remaining equipment at the base, the squads retreated back into the jungle before TIE/sa bomber sorties located them.[1]
