For other uses, see B-wing.

In 35 ABY,[4] the Resistance used[1] the B-wing Mark III,[5] also known as the Resistance B-wing,[6] during the First Order-Resistance War.[1] The Resistance B-wing was the newest of the "blade wing" line, lacking the speed and maneuverability of its contemporaries, but it had the raw firepower needed to take on the Sith Eternal's fleet, the Final Order. All the Resistance B-wings were armed with the fearsome Gyrhil R-9X heavy laser cannon.[2]

The starfighters were limited in stock, with barely a half-dozen among the core of the Resistance. X-wing pilots were also cross-trained on these newer models. The pilot Pattros Navesh of Lantillies[7] led assaults against Resurgent-class Star Destroyers in the craft.[3] At least six were present at the Battle of Exegol between the Resistance and the Sith Eternal, including two flown by Enanan Supa and Pattros Navesh. One was shot down by ion cannon fire shortly after the Resistance forces exited hyperspace into the skies of Exegol.[1]

Behind the scenes[]

The B-Wing appears in the 2019 saga film Star Wars: Episode IX The Rise of Skywalker.[1] The newly designed fighter took inspiration from concept artist Joe Johnston's sketches.[8]
