The BD-1 Cutter vibro-ax was a sophisticated melee weapon produced by SoroSuub. The axe was favored by Jabba the Hutt's Weequay and Nikto guards.
Description[]
The BD-1 Cutter was a model of Vibro-ax manufactured by SoroSuub Corporation. The weapon consisted of a long, hollow durasteel shaft topped by a high-powered axe head. The ultrasonic generator and power cells were located in the axe head and gave the blade enough power to slice through armor plating. A quick-release switch allowed the wielder to switch out a damaged blade in a matter of seconds.[1]
The axe head had an intensity setting that allowed the wielder to determine how much damage the blade dealt to an enemy. The durasteel shaft was gitted with internal dampeners that were designed to absorb the vibrations generated by the axe head. The weapon's power cells allowed for six hours of constant operation.[1]
History[]
Jabba the Hutt's Weequay and Nikto warriors favored the use of BD-1 Cutter vibro-axs.[1] One was used to prod Luke Skywalker into the mouth of the Great Pit of Carkoon.
