"Specially designed polymer wings are coated with a sealer made from Bactriasan scarab cementing fluids, making the wings much tougher than they look."
―Advertisement for the Hobbycraft Microweight in the fiftieth-anniversary edition of Galladinium's Galactic Datalog of Fantastic Technology[1]

The Bactriasan scarab was a type of beetle[1] that originated in[3] the Inner Rim's Bactriasa system.[2] It produced cementing fluids. The Illiseni Aerodyne company manufactured the Hobbycraft Microweight conveyance by producing a sealer from the Bactriasan scarab cementing fluids and coating the microweight's polymer wings with it, thereby rendering them sturdier than their appearance would suggest.[1] At some point between 0 ABY and 3 ABY,[4] an advertisement for the Hobbycraft Microweight mentioning the beetles' role in its manufacture was included in the fiftieth-anniversary edition of Galladinium's Galactic Datalog of Fantastic Technology.[1]

Behind the scenes[]

The Bactriasan scarab was mentioned in Galladinium's Fantastic Technology, a 1995 sourcebook authored by Rick D. Stuart for use with West End Games' Star Wars: The Roleplaying Game.[1]
