The Balduran Civil War was a conflict that occurred several years prior to the outbreak of the Clone Wars. The conflict opposed the Janissariad against another major faction.[3]
As a young man, Atour Riten fought for the Janissariad during the Balduran Civil War. The experience left him with a distaste for any form of centralized government. Disgusted with politics, Riten decided to become a librarian and an archivist.[1]
The Balduran Civil War shared its name with the Baldur system,[2] a star system located in the Nojic sector of the Expansion Region.[4]

(backup link) Jason Fry, co-author of The Essential Atlas, stated his intention to create homeworlds for numerous species based on context implied from their names. Given this principle, this article makes a similar basic assumption for the Balduran Civil War in relation to the Baldur system.
