Between 3 ABY and 4 ABY,^[5] a battle was fought for the Executor, the flagship^[3] of the Sith Lord Darth Vader after it was targeted by droids that had been corrupted by the Scourge in order for the Scourge to target Vader himself,^[1] who had defeated its previous attempt.^[4] The droids, many of whom were part of the droid uprising recently reprogrammed to serve Vader's will, took over the vessel, compromising it, leading to Emperor Sheev Palpatine requesting, via Grand Vizier Mas Amedda, that Vader resecure it. During the battle, the Sith Lord was forced to fight the droids affected by the Scourge. Meanwhile,^[1] a hostile force of five Star Destroyers surrounded the Executor,^[3] which Amedda deemed a lost cause and ordered destroyed to contain the Scourge,^[1] in a battle formation. However, Admiral Corleque delayed the order, giving Vader's own droids long enough to shut down the Executor's mechanical compliment. However, the Scourge had managed to seed itself onto Corleque's flagship,^[3] the Unbreakable,^[2] which Admiral Firmus Piett had destroyed after giving his fellow admiral a mere four seconds to contain the infection.^[3]
