After the destruction of the Death Star, Darth Vader had begun developing a new secret weapon for the Galactic Empire. Meanwhile, in the Rebel Alliance, some rumors have grown concerning "ghost ships" attacking Rebel patrols.

Near Dreighton, a Corellian Transport was attacked by TIE Fighters and sent a distress call to Rebel pilots Kirby with his wingman, Rookie One. The pilot claimed to have crucial information about the Galactic Empire's new project.

When the Imperials boarded the freighter, the message ended abruptly. Then the two Rebel pilots saw on their sensors waves of TIEs approaching against them. The pair fought off the incoming waves and were ready to approach the planet when laser shots come from nowhere against them. The first shots blasted off one of Rookie One's wings and its fighter lost lost its stability. As his B-wing descended helpless on the planet, the shots shot Kirby down. Rookie One however managed to eject safely his pilot pod and was left alone on the planet Dreighton.

Rookie One escapes the Imperial mining base with the Corellia Star.

Having no other means to escape the planet, Rookie One used his portable scanner to trace the freighter. He was led to an Imperial facility and fought his way through, eventually reaching the YT-1300 transport Corellia Star and killing the stormtroopers who are guarding the ship. He escaped the base by flying through mining tunnels and delivered it to the Alliance Fleet.

Aftermath[edit | edit source]

In the Corellian Transport's records, the Alliance learn about a secret Imperial mining facility in the Belt of Arah and a squadron of X-wings moves to destroy it.
