- "This wreckage is from a battle between Separatists and the Republic during the Clone Wars—"
- ―Beilert Valance, to T'onga
Between 22 BBY and 19 BBY,[2] a battle between the Galactic Republic and Confederacy of Independent Systems as part of the Clone Wars took place in[1] the Mid Rim's[3] Ruusan system. The Republic forces consisted of at least one Venator-class Star Destroyer and Acclamator-class assault ship, and at least two Low Altitude Assault Transports, while the Separatists fielded at least one Lucrehulk-class Battleship.[1]
In 3 ABY,[4] wreckage from the battle was used by the Nautolan bounty hunter Nakano Lash to conceal her ship as she waited for her protégé—the cyborg bounty hunter Beilert Valance—to find her. As Valance made his way to Lash's ship aboard his own, he pointed out the wreckage to fellow bounty hunter T'onga, noting it was from the battle during the Clone Wars.[1]
Behind the scenes[]
The battle in the Ruusan system was mentioned in the fourth issue of the 2020 comic series Star Wars: Bounty Hunters. The issue—which was written by Ethan Sacks, with the wreckage from the battle illustrated by Paolo Villanelli—was published by Marvel Comics[1] on August 19, 2020.[5]
