A large-scale battle took place in the remote Poln system, primarily above the double planets Poln Major and Poln Minor between elements of the Galactic Empire and the forces of alien warlord Nuso Esva, eight months after the Battle of Yavin in 0 ABY. The Imperial forces, led by Dark Lord of the Sith Darth Vader and Senior Captain Thrawn, succeeded in shattering the formidable power of Esva's Eastern Fleet, driving the alien warlord from Imperial space.
