"I fought at first, as was my duty—but I was too old for the front lines."
―Jedi Master Ngani Zho[1]

In or sometime shortly after 3681 BBY,[2] in the early years of the Great Galactic War between the Galactic Republic and the resurgent reconstituted Sith Empire, a battle took place in a grassy field on a planet. The revered Jedi Master Ngani Zho participated in the conflict and fought on the front lines against the Sith's Imperial soldiers. Although he survived the engagement, Zho afterwards recognized that he was too old to continue fighting on the front lines, and so retired from direct combat and began raising Theron Shan, the son of his former apprentice, Satele Shan, as a pupil.[1]

Behind the scenes[]

The battle first appeared as a brief flashback in one panel of The Old Republic—The Lost Suns 4. The comic book, released in 2011, did not reveal the official name of the conflict or the planet on which it occurred.[1]
