Beckett's gang,[1] also known as Tobias Beckett's crew[5] or Tobias Beckett's group,[6] was a gang led by the criminal Tobias Beckett some time during the reign of the Galactic Empire.[1] Composed of specialized scoundrels, Beckett assembled the team to carry out profitable but risky heists.[7] Rio Durant was the pilot[8] and Val was handy with explosives.[9] The smuggler Han Solo was offered a place in the crew.[4]
Behind the scenes[]
Tobias Beckett's crew was first revealed in the very first look at the upcoming Star Wars Anthology Series film Solo: A Star Wars Story,[10] the "Big Game" TV spot released during Super Bowl LII on February 4, 2018.[11]
Early story outlines for Solo included an additional member of the gang, a "squid-monkey" named Zapf, who was eventually amalgamated into Rio Durant's character.[12]
