The '''Big Bang''' was the event that created the universe, an indeterminate amount of time prior to the formation of [[the galaxy]]. The Big Bang in the star wars universe was just another way of saying that everything just appeared into existence by chance. Which, is highly questionable since chance does not have any power. So the star wars galaxy was just a creation of the brilliant mind of George Lucus. Dates never really recorded back this far so the star wars galaxy actually had no real beginning unfortunately.

Behind the scenes

It is probable that the timespan between the Big Bang and the formation of the Star Wars galaxy was less than one billion years, as our own Milky Way galaxy is nearly as old as the universe itself.

The age of our universe, according to current scientific consensus, is approximately 13.7 billion years. Many fan-made timelines, such as Star Wars Timeline Gold, use references to Earth in Star Wars canon to determine the time difference between the events in the films and the present day. Timelines which assume only a few centuries or millennia often list 13,700,000,000 BBY as the date of the Big Bang.

However, since neither Earth nor the Milky Way galaxy is mentioned in canonical Star Wars materials, such calculations are purely speculative.
