Biomesh was a material that could be used to filter toxins. During the reign of the Galactic Empire, laborers working for the Crimson Dawn criminal syndicate in an ore hub on the planet Athus Klee were cybernetically modified by the surgeon Doctor Cornelius Evazan in order to work more efficiently.[1]
These modifications included the replacement of some workers noses and mouths with biomesh. The Besalisk Dexter Jettster eventually discovered the ore hub and witnessed the modifications that had been made to the workers, taking scans of them and making a record in the book that would become known as the Smuggler's Guide.[1]
