Björn Weckström is a famous jewelry artist and sculptor of Finnish nationality. In 1977, he was hired by Star Wars creator George Lucas to design an original piece of jewelry that would become Leia Organa's Ceremonial Necklace in Star Wars: Episode IV A New Hope.[1] However, due to time constraints, Lucas was forced to buy a ready piece of jewelry from Weckström's catalogue, and he chose the "Planetary Valleys" necklace.[2]
