The Black Forest was a forest on Kashyyyk that had been dead millennia before[1] 5 ABY.[2] The native Wookiees believed that the area had been poisoned by a darkness, and some believed that the Black Forest was cursed and haunted by bad spirits. The crash site of the prison ship Ashmead's Lock located there.[1]
