A black dwarf was a class of dark, dead dwarf star.[2] When white dwarfs became very cold because of extreme age, they no longer gave off detectable light or heat, appearing black. This process took billions of years.[1]
The exogorth Sy-O was born near one such star with an iron core, and fed off of the energy that it emitted.[2]
