Blizzard 1,[12] alternatively spelled Blizzard One, was an All Terrain Armored Transport which served as General Maximilian Veers' personal walker during the Battle of Hoth[2] as part of the Blizzard Force unit.[11] From the cockpit of Blizzard 1, Veers led the Imperial assault on Echo Base, the Hothian headquarters of the Alliance to Restore the Republic, as vehicle commander. Although the general's walker managed to destroy the massive shield generator that powered Echo Base,[7] Blizzard 1 was decapitated when an enemy T-47 airspeeder flown by Rebel pilot Derek Klivian and his tailgunner Kesin Ommis crashed into its cockpit; although Veers was severely injured, he managed to escape alive.[10]
