During the Clone Wars, a conflict fought between the Galactic Republic and Confederacy of Independent Systems, the planet Quermia was extensively blockaded by the Separatists. The world was loyal to the Republic but surrounded by the Confederacy due to its location in Separatist space. The blockade was lifted with the fall of the Confederacy at the end of the Clone Wars, after which Quermia fell under the rule of the Galactic Empire.
