The bol was a species of mammal native to the planet of Dantooine. It was used primarily to produce milk, but also was a popular mount even outside of Dantooine. They were often hunted for their hide; however, due to over-hunting the population of bols was in steady decline. The hunting originated from the Dantooine Mining Outpost, where thousands of hunters and creature handlers gathered to hunt bols or to tame them. The bols usually frequented an area about a mile away from the outpost, so the hunters did not have to go far to kill them and destroy their homes.
