The Bombardment of Xorrn took place on the Outer Rim Territories planet Xorrn in 19 BBY during the Clone Wars. Following numerous unsuccessful assaults on the planet after the war's opening battle, to destroy illegally constructed Geonosian hive spires and battle droid factories buried beneath the surface, the Republic's capture of Xorrn became worthless to further casualties. To that end, the government dispatched the 9th Engineering Battalion and its fleet operating in the Ferra sector to eradicate the factories, ordering a planetary bombardment on Xorrn.
In the bombardment, countless core ships belonging to the Confederacy of Independent Systems and Trade Federation, which were retrieving battle droid shipments for the Confederacy, were blasted and destroyed by the Republic. As a result of the planetary besiegement, Xorrn's surface became riddled in a graveyard of Republic and Separatist warships, which were left long after the war's end.
