- "I've heard of this trader… a Nimbanel… operating in the Bon'nyuw-Luq sector."
- ―Han Solo, on Bralem Mopak
The Bon'nyuw-Luq sector was a sector situated within the Outer Rim Territories. It contained the planet Arbra, the homeworld of the Hoojib species, as well as the astronomical object Sharlissia. During the High Republic Era, in 228 BBY, the Bon'nyuw-Luq sector partially fell within the Nihil marauders' Occlusion Zone territory after the expansion of its Stormwall barrier.
Description[]
- "This is our destination, a small planet largely covered in woodland."
- ―Counselor Fry, regarding Arbra
The Bon'nyuw-Luq sector was situated in the Outer Rim Territories[1] and Trailing Sectors regions.[3] It bordered the Garis, Grumani, Mayagil,[2] Sanbra,[1] Tamarin, and Toblain sectors.[2] The Bon'nyuw-Luq sector was the location of the Crait system, containing the remote mineral planet Crait.[4] The sector also contained Arbra,[1] a small woodland planet, the trees of which were inhabited by birds.[6] The celestial body Sharlissia was located on the borders of the Bon'nyuw-Luq and Toblain sectors.[2]
History[]
- "So, we're on Arbra. Anyone know where that is?"
- ―Restitution prisoner Ola Hest

During the High Republic Era, Arbra was inhabited.[6] By 231 BBY,[9] the planet's main settlement was the target of a raid by the Nihil marauders that resulted with most of its buildings burning down. Not long after the raid,[6] in that year,[9] the Galactic Republic correctional vessel Restitution visited Arbra in order for its prisoner workforce to assist in the relief efforts. Several work parties—including one under the supervision of Counselors Fry and Jon Wittick that included the incognito former Nihil Tempest Runner Lourna Dee—landed on Arbra in shuttles, meeting with Administrator Lalutin.[6]
The prisoners were scheduled to work over the course of five days; however, while on Arbra, Lalutin—previously injured by Dee when the two attended Carida Academy—sought to reveal her true identity. Lalutin was killed by Dee's fellow prisoner Tasia, working alongside former Tempest Runner Pan Eyta Eyta, who also desired revenge against Dee. In the chaos caused by Eyta's crew, eight prisoners were killed and three escaped, while Eyta himself disappeared after being supposedly defeated by Dee. As a result of the incident, the Restitution departed Arbra for its next stop.[6]
In 228 BBY,[10] the Nihil expanded their Occlusion Zone territory in response to a failed assault by the Republic on its Stormwall barrier. Following the expansion, the edge of the Occlusion Zone bisected the Bon'nyuw-Luq sector, a portion of which was thus trapped behind the Stormwall.[2]
Inhabitants[]
The world Arbra in the Bon'nyuw-Luq sector was home to the Hoojibs, a sentient species of small furred beings that possessed telepathic abilities. The Hoojibs fed on power sources, feasting on energy crystals in their planet's caves.[5]
Behind the scenes[]
In the current Star Wars canon, the Bon'nyuw-Luq sector was first mentioned in "Where in the Galaxy Are the Worlds of Rogue One?," an article written by Mark Newbold for StarWars.com on January 29, 2016.[1] The 2024 reference book Star Wars Encyclopedia: The Comprehensive Guide to the Star Wars Galaxy later placed Crait in the sector.[4] Crait first appeared in the 2017 young-adult novel Leia, Princess of Alderaan, making that novel the Bon'nyuw-Luq sector's first appearance.[11]

As The High Republic Adventures (2023) 4 takes place one year and two weeks after the destruction of Starlight Beacon, it must be set in 228 BBY. Since the events of The High Republic Adventures (2023) 6 are set immediately following the fourth issue's events and depict the expansion of the Stormwall, the latter event must take place in the same year.
