Bone armor was a type of armor that was crafted from the bones of various species of animals.[5] It offered protection against kinetic damage as well as from energy-based weapons like blasters.[1] A typical complete armor set comprised helmet, chest plate, left & right biceps, left & right bracers, gloves, leggings and boots. Bone armors were rather unique as their quality could vary greatly, depending on the skill of the craftsman and the type of animal bone used.[5]
During the Galactic Civil War, bone armors were used by many spacers and criminals.[5] After the Battle of Yavin, a trader encountered the Sanyassan Marauder armorsmith Macchbraus on the Forest Moon of Endor. Macchbraus requested the trader to craft him composite, padded, Mabari and bone armors in exchange for teaching him to create Marauder armors.[7]

Bone armor was a type of armor used by players in the 2003 video game Star Wars Galaxies, a massively multiplayer online roleplaying game developed by Sony Online Entertainment and published by LucasArts,[5] prior to its closure on December 15, 2011.[8]
