Bothese was the spoken language of the Bothans.[1] The language was also known as Bothan.
Bothese was influential for Dressellese language after the Dressellians' first contact with the Bothans. Many Bothese terms became loanwords so that Dressellese could have words for completely new concepts. Later, once Dressel was free of the Imperial yoke, the Dressellians decided to reject their own symbol-based writing system and replace it with the Bothese alphabet.[1]
Bothese also influenced the early form of Galactic Basic Standard.
