Bram Shano was a Zabrak bartender during the Imperial Era. After retiring from fathier racing, Shano established The Broken Hoof bar in Canto Bight.

Biography[]

Shano owned The Broken Hoof bar in the Worker's District in Canto Bight and, over time, established it as a popular meeting place for workers and criminals alike. Shano also used the establishment to allow him to carry out his role as a fence and provided criminal jobs to those who he deemed reliable.[1]

By 3 ABY, the Imperial Security Bureau had compiled a file on Shano where they noted rumors of his criminal activities. It noted that they were small-scale activities and that the ISB should focus on Wen Delphis the leader of a local gang, the Sixth Kin, who was not connected with Shano. A copy of the report was acquired by Crimson Dawn who stored it in their hideout on Toshara.[1]

He provided a room in the bar's attic for the smuggler Kay Vess, who stayed there after her mother left her when she was twelve years old. In 3 ABY, he attempted to dissuade Vess from infiltrating Club Tarsus and stealing from the local gang Sixth Kin, telling her she would eventually get herself killed if she continued to take risks while going alone. He advised her to take easy jobs to build a steady stream of credits and offered to pay for the repairs to her damaged data spike, though she refused.[1]

After Vess had carried out her mission, Shano waited for her in her room at the Broken Hoof and began to lecture her on the mistakes she made. Before he could finish, Sixth Kin enforcers entered the establishment searching for Vess. Shano met them at the bar and told them Vess was not there. He lied to the gang, telling them he was done with her and offered to help them with their search.[1]

However, one of the enforcers said he would slow down their search and shot Shano's right thigh with his blaster. When the concerned Vess rushed to him, he told her the wound was nothing and provided her with the details of a high-risk job with a newly formed crew, telling her to finish the job whatever it took. He informed her that the score itself was enough to buy her a shuttle off-world. Passing her the datapad containing the mission information, he told her it was time to go for good, and firmly told her not to come back when she said she would return at some point.[1]

Vess did return later that year with a crew made up of Jaylen Vrax, ND-5, Ank Parako, Gedeek Obaz, Asara Deyn and her mother, Riko Vess. Shano allowed them use his bar to make their final preparations before their attempt to rob the Westhill Palace on Canto.[1]

Personality and traits[]

Bram Shano was a Zabrak with tan skin, brown eyes and a short brown beard. Shano had a gruff exterior but deeply cared for Kay Vess, providing free meals and board for years. He tried to guide Vess to learn from her mistakes.[1]

Equipment[]

While working at the Broken Hoof, Shano wore a brown jacket over a grey long sleeve shirt with matching brown pants and grey boots. He wore a belt with a pouch around his waist.[1]

Behind the scenes[]

Bram Shano appeared in the 2024 video game, Star Wars Outlaws developed by Massive Entertainment and published by Ubisoft.[1]
