Brill was a Tarsunt engineer who was a crew member of the Mighty Oak Apocalypse at the time of the Galactic Civil War, working for the Wookiee captain Lohgarra. Ex-Imperial pilot Thane Kyrell was a fellow crew member of hers for a few months following the Battle of Yavin. Eventually Brill and her crew mates reunited with Kyrell, who was now a member of the Alliance to Restore the Republic. Together, they participated in the Battle of Endor and were present during the celebrations that took place on the forest moon afterwards.[1]

Biography[]

Brill joined the crew of the Mighty Oak Apocalypse at some point prior to 3 BBY as a navigator for Logharra's crew. During 3 BBY, she and the crew accepted a job from Senator Leia Organa to transport her to the Outer Rim Territories. Yet, as they approached the destination Leia had originally given them, the senator ordered Brill to change the course of the Mighty Oak Apocalypse. To Brill's shock, Leia had the freighter diverted to Pamarthe, a planet which the Empire was preparing cut off from all space-traffic. Regardless of the unorthodox destination, Brill and her crew mates dropped Senator Organa off at an island Docking Bay on Pamarthe as requested.[2]

Seven months after the Battle of Yavin, Brill helped fellow crewmate, Thane Kyrell, deliver constructor droids to the perpetually-winter world of Zeitooine. It was also on Zeitooine that Brill was tasked alongside her crew to find a new power cell for the Mighty Oak Apocalypse’s aft sensor array; despite searching several second-hand parts vendors, Brill was unsuccessful. Brill later accompanied the crew to Dinwa Prime, Arieli and Ivera X, becoming a permanent member of team.[1]

Mercy Mission to Oulanne[]

"You realize if you can’t sync your movements with the autonav, you’ll rip us in two.”
I’ve got it.
"
―Brill warning Thane Kyrell before he pilots the Mighty Oak Apocalypse[1]

After a devastating earthquake on the planet Oulanne’s megacontinent left its population in ruin, Brill assisted the crew of the Mighty Oak Apocalypse in smuggling medical supplies to the Oulannists. During this run, a megahurricane threatened to destroy the freighter as it entered Oulanne’s atmosphere; with Thane taking over as pilot, Brill watched in bafflement as her crew mate managed to work in tandem with the ship’s autonav to bring the ship safely into a docking bay located on the southern peninsula of Oulanne’s megacontinent. The crew of the Mighty Oak Apocalypse praised Thane for saving the freighter, though the skeptical Brill attributed his success to him being very “lucky” rather than a credit to his flying skills.[1]

The following day, Brill helped her crew, and the crew of another smuggling freighter led by Lieutenant Commander Wedge Antilles unload their medical supplies and emergency rations for the people of Oulanne. After hours of work, Brill had learned that Wedge Antilles was a member of the Rebel Alliance and that he had attempted to recruit Thane. While Lohgarra discussed the possibility of joining the Rebel Alliance with the rest of the crew, Brill decided that, while Thane should join, the joining the Alliance was too much of a commitment for her.[1]

Joining the Rebel Alliance[]

"We refitted the whole ship. New shields, new dampeners. She’s toting guns from more kinds of fighters than you can count on both hands. Or claws. Tentacles. Whatever you have!"
"Ready for action, huh?
"
―Brill telling Thane about the Mighty Oak Apocalypse’s upgrades[1]

Despite her reservations, Brill and the rest of the Mighty Oak Apocalypse joined the Rebel Alliance in 4 ABY, arriving on the Rebel-controlled world of 5251977 alongside a few Braha'tok gunships. Upon being reunited with Thane Kyrell aboard the MC80 Star Cruiser, Liberty, Brill proudly told him about all the upgrades she and Lohgarra had made on the Mighty Oak Apocalypse to make it combat-ready.[1]

Just prior to the Battle of Endor, Brill shook Thane’s hand, wishing him good luck as he piloted a T-65 X-wing starfighter into battle. Thane was later reunited with Brill and the rest of the Mighty Oak Apocalypse on Endor, all of whom survived the battle. Brill helped Thane’s squadmate Yendor Brethen repair his Astromech droid, JJH2, before they all joined in a party celebrating the Rebel Alliance’s victory.[1]

Behind the scenes[]

In Claudia Gray's Lost Stars novel, Brill was introduced as a new member of the Mighty Oak Apocalypse, having joined the crew some time similar to Thane Kyrell around 1 ABY.[1] Yet this was retconned by Brill's second appearance in Leia, Princess of Alderaan, wherein Gray depicted Brill as having been a member of the Mighty Oak Apocalypse as far back as 3 BBY.[2]
