Brix was first mentioned in Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker: The Visual Dictionary, a reference book written by Pablo Hidalgo and published in 2019.[1] An earlier draft of the film Star Wars: Episode VIII The Last Jedi included an insectoid warlord known as the "Butcher of Brix."[2]
