Broadsword Online Games is a video game company founded in 2014 by former developers of the company Mythic Entertainment following the latter's closure. Like Mythic Entertainment, Broadsword was specialized in massively multiplayer online role-playing games. Upon its creation, the studio took over maintenance and development of the games Dark Age of Camelot and Ultima Online, both previously developed by Mythic Entertainment and published by Electronic Arts.[1]
In June 2023, BioWare handed off development and further update of Star Wars: The Old Republic to Broadsword Online Games after almost 12 years under BioWare. The majority of the Old Republic development team at BioWare was intended to join Broadsword to continue to work on the game.[2][4][5]
