- "Wanna drink?"
"I'm looking for someone."
"Came to the right place."
"A lowlife death stick dealer. Just came in here."
"A lot of people come through here, friend" - ―Jango Fett and Bufon Taire
Bufon Taire was a Humanoid male who was the chief bartender for the Outlander Club located in the Uscru Entertainment District of the planet Coruscant. In 32 BBY, the bounty hunter Jango Fett threatened Taire for the whereabouts of death stick dealer Jervis Gloom. In 22 BBY, Taire served a drink to Jedi Obi-Wan Kenobi in the club as he and his padawan searched for the bounty hunter Zam Wesell.
Biography[]
Bufon Taire was a Humanoid male[1] who was the chief bartender for the Outlander Club,[2] a nightclub and gambling hall[4] located in the Uscru Entertainment District of the planet Coruscant.[5] Taire and his assistant bartender, Ganwick Trag, kept the drinks going in the club as most of the action and gossip was spread around them.[6] Aside from Trag, Taire had another assistant bartender who had been fired from some of the most respectful bars on Coruscant.[7] His well-stocked bar at the center of the club featured the best[5] color-coded ingredients like Aludium pu-36 and[8] his famous and popular "starshine special" additive. As an extra measure, Taire watered down his drinks as a precaution.[8] If Taire knew an individual, or if that individual was with the right people, they might have been treated to the "starshine special."[5]

In 32 BBY,[9] Taire was working behind the bar of the club when the bounty hunter Jango Fett, seeking out the death stick dealer Jervis Gloom, entered and approached the bar. After being evasive about Gloom, Fett pulled out a[3] WESTAR-34 blaster pistol[10] from his holster and threatened the bartender. Not wanting to get shot, Taire told Fett that Gloom took a lift up to the club's casino. Fett then ordered for Taire to call the lift down with the bartender obliging. The lift came down, but with several thugs pouring out. Fett killed them all and then went up to the casino and collected the bounty on Gloom.[3]
During a night[11] in 22 BBY,[12] Taire was again working behind the bar of the club when the Jedi Obi-Wan Kenobi and Anakin Skywalker entered, searching for bounty hunter Zam Wesell. Kenobi went up to the bar[11] and signaled Taire. The bartender served him an amber-colored liquid.[13] After the slythmonger[14] Elan Sel'Sabagno[15] left Kenobi, the Jedi tossed back the drink and Taire refilled it.[13] A short while later,[11] Taire noticed Wesell approaching Kenobi from behind with a blaster[16] before Kenobi turned around and disarmed her.[11] As the Jedi interrogated Wesell outside, the bartender was no longer at the club's bar.[7]
Personality and traits[]
The no-nonsense[5] Taire had scarred dark skin and brown hair. Taire had differently colored eyes, with his right being white, and his left being brown.[1] Unwilling to suffer harm, Taire gave into Jango Fett's demands to call the Outlander Club's lift down.[3]
Equipment[]
The bartender wore a dark blue suit with glowing lapels and light gray sleeves accompanied by dark blue pants.[6]
Behind the scenes[]
Bufon Taire was created for the prequel trilogy film Star Wars: Episode II Attack of the Clones,[11] which released on May 16, 2002.[17] Portrayed by an uncredited extra, the Outlander Club scenes including Taire were shot at Fox Studios, Sydney on July 17, 2000.[18] Prior to the film's release, Taire first appeared in both the films storybook, and its novelization,[13] both simultaneously releasing on April 23, 2002. Taire was first given a name in the fourty-fourth issue of The Official Star Wars Fact File.[5] The name Bufon Taire is a homonym of "bouffant hair."[2] In the video game Star Wars: Bounty Hunter, Taire was voiced by Kevin Michael Richardson.[3]
The forty-fourth issue of The Official Star Wars Fact File describes Taire as Human,[5] while The Complete Star Wars Encyclopedia describes him as Humanoid.[1] This article assumes the Complete Encyclopedia to be correct as it is the more recent source.
