- "Long ago, the Sith froze you at the heart of their totems of darkness, cutting you off from the root-mind."
- ―Keeve Trennis, to the Great Progenitor
Around 2500 BBY,[1] the Sith captured the sentient carnivorous plant-like Drengir on the Amaxine Space Station.[5] After working alongside each other for a time, the Sith betrayed the Drengir, with the creatures attacking them in response. Fearful of the Drengir's power[2] and refusing to be controlled by them,[3] the Sith used four binding statues to sever the Great Progenitor, the first of the Drengir, from the species's hive mind.[4] This caused the Drengir to lie dormant on the Amaxine Station for centuries.[5] According to the Drengir's perspective of the event, the Sith Lord Darth Krall was one of the Sith leading the fight, attacking the Drengir personally.[3]
