Caraad[2] was a planet located in the galaxy. It was a cold and mountainous world that included a city, which was built amongst the planet's snowy peaks. Caraad was home to Arcona, Aqualish, humans, and Tarlafar.[1] Around 18 BBY,[3] the bounty hunter Cad Bane received a tip from a local that a potentially-Force-sensitive child was living there. Bane and his butler droid Todo 360 traveled to Caraad and kidnapped the child, Bayrn, and then delivered them to the Galactic Empire, collecting the M-count bounty reward for retrieval of Force-sensitive targets.[1]

Behind the scenes[]

Caraad first appeared in "Identity Crisis,"[1] the eleventh episode of the third season of the animated television series Star Wars: The Bad Batch, which premiered on April 3, 2024.[4] Although unnamed in the episode,[1] Caraad was identified via the Databank on StarWars.com.[2]

  3. Per the reasoning here, Season 2 of Star Wars: The Bad Batch takes place around 18 BBY. The tally marks made by Omega in The Bad Batch Season 3's first episode, "Confined," indicate the episode must take place at least twenty-one standard days following her capture as depicted in the Season 2 episode "Plan 99." According to StarWars "Confined" Trivia Guide | Star Wars The Bad Batch on StarWars.com (backup link), Omega spends about 164 further days in captivity by the end of "Confined." As such, the events of Season 3 must begin around 18 BBY.
