Carrick Station, formerly known as Outpost 22, was a massive space station built in orbit of a planet in the Core Worlds of the Galactic Republic during the Cold War. It became the heart of Republic fleet operations almost overnight when an unexpected Imperial offensive forced supply lines to shift in the final months before the Treaty of Coruscant.[2]

Thanks to the station's initial insignificance and sudden strategic value, It was renamed in honor of former Jedi Padawan Zayne Carrick, who experienced a similarly unexpected rise to prominence during the Mandalorian Wars.[1] [2]

Over the years, Carrick Station underwent dramatic upgrades to its shielding, weaponry, and sensor systems.[2] Carrick Station was the main staging area for the Republic Fleet, and was the main hub of transport shuttles bearing Republic soldiers and Jedi to and from the Republic capital of Coruscant, the Jedi sanctum of Tython, or the war-torn world of Ord Mantell.[1] It was also Task Force Nova's headquarters.

Carrick Station was guarded at all times by a Republic fleet of a minimum of three Valor-class cruisers, four Thranta-class corvettes and a few Wanderer-class transports and another unnamed ship class. The Republic First Expeditionary Fleet was stationed at Carrick Station during the Cold War.[1] Its commanding officers oversaw more than 70 percent of all Republic starship operations during this period.[2]

Behind the scenes[]

The reason why the station was named after Carrick is not known, as John Jackson Miller claimed that the public did not know about any positive deed Zayne did beside Swoop Dueling.[3]

As I told the designers, Zayne hadn't yet done anything positive that the public knew about, beyond swoop dueling. Sure, it might've been named for another Carrick — even one of Zayne's four sisters.

    But there's another thread... /4"
