"There's spice, of course, but stick with andris, carsunum, or sansanna and never mess around with ryll or the prime Kessel strains."
―Platt Okeefe[1]

Carsunum was a spice variant that the smuggler Platt Okeefe recommended as a profitable cargo in the pirate Maz Kanata's Smuggler's Guide. Okeefe warned against trafficking variants such a ryll or the strains of spice mined on Kessel, and suggested that smugglers stick to variants like carsunum, andris, and sansanna spice.[1]

Behind the scenes[]

Carsunum was first mentioned in the 2018 canon reference book Star Wars: Smuggler's Guide, written by Daniel Wallace.[1] In the Star Wars Legends continuity, carsunum was first introduced in the 1997 novel The Paradise Snare, written by A. C. Crispin.[2]
