This category is for canon young-reader novels (ages 0–8), and is inclusive of chapter books and novels. Categorization is based on the Disney–Lucasfilm Press website's target age ranges "6–8 Years Old" (sometimes known as children's).

Note that articles placed in this category differ from middle-grade novels (ages 9–12). Many other books for young readers are not of sufficient length or narrative complexity to be placed in this category, such as read-along storybooks or books for children under 6 years old.
