Food is categorized in several ways:

  1. By culture — here, food is organized by the species or culture who created the food or dish;
  2. By ingredient — here, food is organized by its constituent parts: bean, fungi, fruit, vegetable, meat, etc;
  3. By type — here, food is organized by its preparation or meal: breakfast and dessert, breads, dairy products, pastries, sauces, spreads, etc;
  4. By food creature — here, creatures that are used for food are placed;

This is a parent category. Please try to place foods within the correct sub-category if possible. Ideally, food could be categorized by each of the first three: culture, ingredient and type.
