Cedral Gend was a male Human Jedi Master and a member of the Jedi High Council active during the Cold War between the Galactic Republic and the Sith Empire.
Biography[]
Gend was an expert and hunter of dark side Force nexuses and dark side artifacts. In his research, Gend gained allies in the Hutts and even the Imperials. He quickly noticed the diffusion of the Seeds of Rage by the Dread Masters, and tasked a Republic individual with the mission to find and destroy them.[1]
During the Third Galactic War, he was present at Port Nowhere when the Hidden Chain attacked, with Gend being taken hostage by Cantis Bralor.[2]
Behind the scenes[]
Gameplay alternatives[]
For Republic players, Cedral Gend provides the mission "Buried Evils". At the end of the mission chain, Gend will have different dialogue depending on whether the player had recovered or merged the Seeds of Rage. If the player took the dark side option and merged the Seeds, Gend will note that he could not sense the artifacts' presence. The players can then either say they've been neutralized, or lie that they destroyed the Seeds or handed them over to the Republic Strategic Information Service.[3]
Cedral Gend was to appear as a boss in the cut Imperial storyline on Yavin IV.
If the player is an Imperial-affiliated force-user in the The Old Republic: Legacy of the Sith mission "Chains in the Dark," the hostage taken by Cantis Bralor is Markan rather than Cedral Gend. If a Republic player is playing either a Jedi Knight or a Jedi Consular, Cedral Gend will appear as Cantis' hostage. If the player hadn't completed "Buried Evils" prior to playing this mission, Gend will comment that the Eternal Empire conquest had made the search much harder.[2]
