Celebration is a series of Star Wars fan conventions sponsored by Lucasfilm Ltd. Star Wars Celebrations have been held every few years since 1999.
Celebration[]
Celebration was held prior to the release of The Phantom Menace in 1999. The convention was held in Denver, Colorado.
Celebration II[]
Celebration II was held prior to the release of Attack of the Clones in 2002. It ran from May 3 to May 5 2002, in Indianapolis, Indiana.
Celebration III[]
Celebration III was held to celebrate the release of Revenge of the Sith. It ran from April 21 to April 24 2005, in Indianapolis, Indiana.
Celebration IV[]
Celebration IV was held to celebrate 30 years of Star Wars. It was held from May 24 to May 28, 2007, in Los Angeles, California.
Celebration Europe[]
Celebration Europe was held in London, United Kingdom to celebrate 30 years of Star Wars. It was the first Celebration to be held outside the United States. It ran from July 13 to July 15, 2007.
Celebration Japan[]
Celebration Japan was held at the Makuhari-Messe Convention Center near Tokyo from July 19 to July 21, 2008. It was the first Celebration to be held in Japan. Its purpose was to celebrate the 30th anniversary of A New Hope, the original Star Wars film, which debuted in Japan on June 24, 1978.
Celebration V[]
Celebration V was held from August 12 to August 15, 2010, in Orlando, Florida, to celebrate 30 years of The Empire Strikes Back.[2]
Celebration VI[]
Celebration VI was held from August 23 to August 26, 2012, and returned to Orlando, Florida.
Celebration Europe II[]
Celebration Europe II was held from July 26 to July 28, 2013, and for the first time held in Essen, Germany.
Celebration Anaheim[]
Celebration Anaheim was held in Anaheim, California from April 16 to April 19, 2015, coinciding with the theatrical release of the second trailer for Episode VII The Force Awakens.
Celebration Europe (2016)[]

Celebration London was held in London, United Kingdom, July 15 through July 17, 2016.
Celebration Orlando[]
On May 4, 2016, Lucasfilm announced Celebration 2017, which took place in Orlando, Florida, from April 13 through April 16, 2017.
Celebration Chicago[]
On March 8, 2017, Lucasfilm announced Celebration 2019, which took place in Chicago, Illinois, from April 11 through April 15, 2019.
Celebration Anaheim (2022)[]
On April 15, 2019, Lucasfilm announced Celebration 2020, which would have taken place once again in Anaheim, California, in 2020,[3] but was cancelled due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic and rescheduled for the same location in August 2022.[4][5][6] The 2020 art show did continue via the internet, however.[7] On May 12, 2021, StarWars.com announced that the Celebration was being moved up from August, and would now be held from May 26 to May 29, 2022.[8]
Celebration Europe (2023)[]
On May 29, 2022, Lucasfilm announced Celebration 2023, which took place in London, United Kingdom, April 7 through April 10, 2023.[9]
Celebration Japan (2025)[]
On February 21, 2023, StarWars.com revealed that a celebration will take place in 2025.[10]
An Online Revelry: May the 4th Be With You and Revenge of the 5th[]
On May 4 and 5, 2020, the organization that sponsors Celebrations hosted an online showcase of Star Wars events due to the COVID-19 pandemic.[11]
