Celebration Europe II was a Star Wars Celebration fan convention held at the Grugahalle and Grugapark in Essen, Germany from July 26 to July 28, 2013[1]. It served as a followup to Celebration Europe, the first European official Star Wars convention, which was held in London in July 2007. Celebration Europe II was first announced at the Closing Ceremonies of Celebration VI (Orlando, Florida) on August 26, 2012. It was later confirmed on StarWarsCelebration.com, with the dates and place revealed. The event was hosted by Warwick Davis, who had portrayed the Ewok Wicket Wystri Warrick in Star Wars: Episode VI Return of the Jedi.
Special events included a costume contest, a chance to receive an autograph and an opportunity to present ideas for Lucasfilm regarding the events. In addition, bonuses received when pre-ordering tickets to the event included a guide and an exclusive T-shirt with a silhouette of Luke Skywalker's pose from Return of the Jedi. VIP status was issued for children who participated in the Jedi Academy attraction at Walt Disney World and graduated with the rank of Jedi Master. On July 18, it was announced that the Star Wars Tattoo section was returning, having previously appeared at Celebration Europe 2007 as part of the promotion of the coffee-table book The Force in the Flesh: Star Wars Inspired Body Art.
On July 19, the German branch of the Official Star Wars Fan Club was announced to be setting up for the event. The same day, Hasbro via San Diego Comic-Con 2013 unveiled new action figures that were to be issued at Celebration Europe II.

Celebration Europe Evening Events[]
On Friday, at 19:30, there was an outdoor screening of Star Wars: Episode VI Return of the Jedi in Grugapark next to the Messe Essen to mark the movie's 30th Anniversary. On Saturday evening, fans, exhibitors, and guests were invited to eat, drink, and have fun in Essen during the Celebration Europe Cantina Crawl. Officially scheduled between 19:00 and 23:00, the Celebration Europe Insider's Guide boasted Star Wars fun and activities were to last long into the night at several establishments in the city.
