In 14 BBY,[3] when Jedi Padawan Cal Kestis traveled to the planet Zeffo, he discovered some cerakote in the Ice Caves and kept it for making modifications to his former master's lightsaber, which he received from his Jedi Master Jaro Tapal shortly before his death during Order 66[1] in 19 BBY.[4]

Behind the scenes[]

Cerakote first appeared in the 2019 video game Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, developed by Respawn Entertainment. In the game, it is one of the twenty-four materials players can collect in order to customize the appearance of Cal Kestis' lightsaber.[1]
