Chafala was a city on the planet Naboo. Located in the swamps of the planet, the city was originally settled by scientists and explorers. Chafala later became an important link in the political history between the Gungans and the Naboo and some Gungans had chosen to make it their permanent home.[1]

Behind the scenes[edit | edit source]

"CHAFALA - Established in the swamps of the southern regions, Chafala lies somewhere between civilization and frontier. Originally settled by scientists and explorers, it has become an important link in the political history shared between the Gungans and the Naboo. Many important treaties and declarations have been established in Chafala, and some Gungans have chosen to make it their permanent home. Surrounded on all sides by shallow water, vegetation, and small islets, Chafala is a sedately lush travel destination. While some visitors have remarked that it's a bit gloomy, no one who has been there can forget its unique character."
―Excerpt from the file loc_d.stf[src]

The city of Chafala was originally supposed to appear in the 2003 video game Star Wars Galaxies, a massively multiplayer online role-playing game developed by Sony Online Entertainment and published by LucasArts. The name and description of the city are present in the game files loc_n.stf and loc_d.stf. These two files contain the texts used on the screen that allowed players to choose the starting location for a new character during the pre-NGE era of the game. This indicates that Chafala was intended to be one of the starting city for players.[1]
