Chaka Mater Laka was a musician who performed in the song "Batuu Boogie" alongside MW-59.[1] The duo's song was featured by the droid DJ R-3X in Oga's Cantina, which was located in Black Spire Outpost on the Outer Rim planet Batuu,[2] around the year 34 ABY.[3] The cantina playlist was broadcast over the local radio station, BSO 401.72, which could be heard in the refreshers near the Droid Depot store, inside the Black Spire Station garage, inside the market at Merchant Row, and inside Docking Bay 5 at the local spaceport.[4]

Chaka Mater Laka's musical recording "Batuu Boogie" first appeared in the themed land Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge,[5] which opened to guests at Disneyland Park on May 31, 2019.[6] The track is used in the Oga's Cantina bar and included in the background audio for the restrooms near Droid Depot, Black Spire Station, the market, and in the stand-by queue for the attraction Millennium Falcon: Smuggler's Run.[5] The in-universe artists behind the track were not revealed, however, until the release of Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge Oga's Cantina: R3X's Playlist #1,[1] a digital album released on September 6, 2019.[7]
