Chandrakant was the smaller of the two moons of the Core Worlds planet Chandrila. Like the rest of the Bormea sector's Chandrila system,[1] it was located on the Perlemian Trade Route, which served as a dividing line between the Northern Dependencies and Arrowhead portions of the Core Worlds.[2]
The moon, which was only a fraction of the size of its fellow moon Chandra, was covered in amber-colored gases that reflected a dull, golden light and were toxic to most species. Chandrakant's name meant "counterpoint" in the Chandrilan language.[1]
Behind the scenes[]
Chandrila's two moons were first mentioned in Coruscant and the Core Worlds, a 2003 sourcebook published by Wizards of the Coast for use with the Star Wars Roleplaying Game,[3] but Chandrakant was not named separately until the 2015 Star Wars Roleplaying expansion Strongholds of Resistance, which was published by Fantasy Flight Games, published for use with the Star Wars: Age of Rebellion roleplaying game system.[1] The 2009 reference book The Essential Atlas placed the Chandrila system, and therefore Chandrakant, in grid square L-9.[2]
