"I think he's a she… and I think she's a changeling."
Anakin Skywalker, about the Clawdite Zam Wesell[1]

The bounty hunter Zam Wesell used her shapeshifting powers to maintain a human form when in public

Changeling[1] or shapeshifter were terms used for the few species that could assume different forms.[2] The Clawdites of Zolan were shapeshifters.[3] Thanks to those abilities, changelings made almost undetectable impostors, which posed security risks. Notably, the Clawdite bounty hunter Cato Parasitti helped Cad Bane infiltrate the Jedi Temple on Coruscant by impersonating deceased Jedi Master Ord Enisence, and then Chief Librarian Jocasta Nu.[4] During the reign of Emperor Palpatine, the Imperial Intelligence of his Galactic Empire kept a careful eye on shapeshifters with underworld ties.[2]

Transforming through the Force was possible. The Force wielders had this ability, with the Son being able to transform into a large, winged gargoyle while the Daughter could become a griffin.[5]
