Charles Boyd is a former writer and a game director at BioWare Austin for the video game Star Wars: The Old Republic and its extensions. He also co-authored the reference guide Star Wars: The Old Republic Encyclopedia.

Joining Bioware in 2006, Charles Boyd joined the team of writers under the leadership of Daniel Erickson working on Star Wars: The Old Republic, where he created the story for one of the eight classes of the game: the Trooper. After the departure of Erickson in late 2012, Boyd was promoted lead writer alongside Hall Hood, working on the first extension of the game, Rise of the Hutt Cartel (2013). Then, he became the sole lead writer for the second narrative extension, Shadow of Revan (2014).

Charles Boyd also held the position of lead writer for Knights of the Fallen Empire (2015). He was soon promoted to lead creative designer after the release of this extension, and from there ascended to creative director in mid-2016 to work on Knights of the Eternal Throne and future content for The Old Republic.

Charles Boyd left Bioware on August 05, 2022 after 16 years with the company.[1]

Charles Boyd is a costuming enthusiast, being part of the 501st Legion, the Rebel Legion, and the Mandalorian Mercs.
