"Star Wars is, among other things, very fun."
―Charles Soule[src]

Charles Soule is an American lawyer, musician, comic-book writer, and novelist. He debuted in mainstream comics in 2013 with the creator-owned Oni Press series Letter 44. For DC Comics he scripted Swamp Thing, Red Lanterns and Superman/Wonder Woman and, for Marvel, Thunderbolts.

In 2014, Soule wrote the latest volume of She-Hulk and Inhuman and, with Steve McNiven, created the Death of Wolverine event. He signed a Marvel exclusive contract and ended his tenure at DC Comics. He has since overseen the launch of the second Inhumans comic, Uncanny Inhumans. In April 2018, Soule published his first novel, The Oracle Year. This was followed by a second novel, Anyone, the following year.

Charles Soule authored the Star Wars: Lando and Star Wars: Obi-Wan and Anakin limited series for Marvel Comics before later writing for the Star Wars: Poe Dameron series, the Star Wars: Darth Vader (2017) series, and the Star Wars: The Rise of Kylo Ren limited series. He is currently writing Marvel's mainline Star Wars run set after Star Wars: Episode V The Empire Strikes Back.

His story "Red Four" was included in Marvel Comics #1000, a comic issue released to celebrate Marvel Comics' eightieth anniversary.[1]

He is currently working on Star Wars: The High Republic with Cavan Scott, Claudia Gray, Daniel José Older, and Justina Ireland. As part of The High Republic, Soule wrote his first Star Wars novel, which launched the multimedia publishing campaign. The High Republic: Light of the Jedi was published in January 2021.[2]
