Chortav Meshurkaane was a street on the Outer Rim world of Mandalore, located within Keldabe, the planet's capital city.[1] When translated from the Mandalorian language of Mando'a into Galactic Basic Standard, the name Chortav Meshurkaane could be taken to mean either "Gem-Cutters Street" or "Jewelers Street."[2] The street was home to several tapcafs and small shops.[1]

Twice a week, on Keldabe's market days, the numerous tapcafs and stores along Chortav Meshurkaane's length were joined by various temporary market stalls that lined the street. These stalls typically sold items ranging from precious metals and gemstones, to leather goods, including gloves, belts, and kamas. One end of Chortav Meshurkaane opened onto a paved, outdoor square in front of the Oyu'baat tapcaf, a square that also hosted a number of merchant stalls, selling a wide selection of wares and different foods.[1]

Behind the scenes

Chortav Meshurkaane was first introduced to the Star Wars universe in Imperial Commando: 501st, the fifth entry in the Republic Commando series of novels, written by author Karen Traviss and published October 27, 2009.[1]
