Cirilian Noodle Salad was a type of salad made up of noodles and vegetables created by the Gilliand Z'Vk'Thkrkza, known as "Aunt Z." It was inspired by her Cirilian Sour Paste drink. At some point, after leading a group rebelling against the First Order to the planet Takodana, she encountered the Artiodac chef Strono Tuggs, with whom she traded recipes. Later, after Tuggs published his first cookbook[1] in 34 ABY,[2] the chef included a recipe for Cirilian Noodle Salad in his holiday cookbook, The Life Day Cookbook, where he mentioned that the salad was enjoyable but not the same without Aunt Z's presence.[1]

Behind the scenes[]

Cirilian Noodle Salad was introduced in Star Wars: The Life Day Cookbook, a recipe book authored by Jenn Fujikawa and Marc Sumerak[1] and published on November 9, 2021. Prior to the book's release, the salad was revealed in a November 1 StarWars.com preview that same year.[3]

The out-of-universe recipe for the dressing includes chili sauce, rice vinegar, soy sauce, sesame oil, garlic, and black pepper. The noodles are rice noodles cooked with water and red cabbage, and the salad calls for cabbage, carrots, snap peas, a scallion, sesame seeds, and a lime.[1]
