"His light green eyes would be vibrant (as most Kerestian eyes are) if he had not been injured in an explosion at the Clariv Shipyards some years ago."
―Rebel Task Force on Alliance Security SecuriDex datafile on Milacass[3]

Clariv was a world[2] located in the Clariv system.[1] It was a part of the Back Spiral area of the Tion Hegemony sector, which was situated in the Tion Cluster[2] within the Slice portion of the Outer Rim Territories.[1] Clariv lay between the Erediss and Rudrig systems on the hyperlane known as the Tion Trade Route.[2]

Clariv was the site of the bustling[2] Clariv Shipyards,[3] with a large portion of the business there being conducted for interests in the nearby Keldrath and Pakuuni sectors.[2] Several years prior to[3] 2 ABY,[4] the bounty hunter Milacass was injured in an explosion at the shipyards.[3] Clariv was sympathetic to the Rebel Alliance during the Galactic Civil War, and when the Galactic Empire learned of the fact shortly before the Battle of Yavin, the world became the target of a brutal Imperial subjugation.[2]

Behind the scenes[]

Clariv was introduced in the form of a mention of the Clariv Shipyards in Alliance Intelligence Reports, a 1995 sourcebook for West End Games' Star Wars: The Roleplaying Game.[3] The December 7, 2009 StarWars.com Hyperspace[5] article "Xim Week: The History of Xim and the Tion Cluster" by Jason Fry first identified Clariv as a distinct world.[2] The August 18, 2009[6] reference book The Essential Atlas placed the Clariv system, and therefore Clariv itself, in grid square S-6.[1]
