Clive Revill (born April 18, 1930,[1] died March 11, 2025[2]) was an actor from New Zealand who provided voice of Emperor Palpatine in the 1980 theatrical release of The Empire Strikes Back. Marjorie Eaton portrayed Palpatine physically. When the film was released on DVD in 2004, both Revill and Eaton were replaced by Ian McDiarmid.[3]
