The Cobra was a ship that belonged to Lando Calrissian. Calrissian had many stories of how he acquired the ship and wasn't sure which one he liked the best.[1]
Characteristics[]
The vessel was a modified Mu-2 long range shuttle originally manufactured by Sienar Fleet Systems.
History[]
In 1 ABY, Calrissian used it as part of his wager to Baron Administrator Dominic Raynor in a sabacc game, losing the Cobra in a game rigged by Barpotomous Drebble, but then later winning it back. At this time, the Cobra was notable enough for Raynor to request it by name when Lando proposed to wager a ship in their game.[2]
Calrissian later flew the ship off of Bespin while faking his own death in order to uncover a plot to assassinate him. He then traveled to the Yucrales sector and the planet Quilken with it while being chased by the bounty hunter Thune.[3]
Nearly three years later, Calrissian and Chewbacca flew the Cobra to Arcan IV during their search for Han Solo after the smuggler was captured by Boba Fett on Cloud City.[4]
Shortly after the Battle of Endor, Calrissian used the Cobra on diplomatic missions to Drogheda[5] and Keyorin.[6]
He later met up with Solo and Chewbacca on Kashyyyk, during one of the earliest incidents of the Nagai–Tof War. After the heroes crushed the slaving operation led by Nagai commander Ozrei "Knife" N'takkilomandrife, the Nagai stole the Cobra and fled.[7] The ship was later recovered after Knife was captured on Kabray.[8][9]
Calrissian and Chewbacca flew the Cobra together again on a mission to Stenos to retrieve the Dancing Goddess from Barpotomous Drebble. They then delivered it to Godo to save the natives from the Godoan's disease.[10]
Calrissian flew the Cobra as Gold Leader during the Second Battle of Endor, the first major engagement of the Nagai-Tof War.[11]
Calrissian and Luke Skywalker later used the Cobra to travel to Iskalon, intending to inform the Iskalonian people of Kiro's death.[12]
