The combat speeder was a model of speeder used by General Grievous, the Supreme Commander of the Droid Army of the Confederacy of Independent Systems, during the Clone Wars. Endente's Sugi arms dealers also used the speeders. During the Imperial Era, the Galactic Empire's Imperial Armor Corps also made used of combat speeders.

The combat speeder featured a turbine engine, a pair of laser cannons, and recessed rocket launchers in the forward prow. The craft was steered by a simple column connected to the directional vanes. Endente's arms dealing group had access to the model.[3]

History[]

Combat speeders

A variant of the combat speeders used by Endente's group

General Grievous used his speeder in his campaign to conquer the planet Florrum,[2] where he used it to chase Hondo Ohnaka, his remaining pirates, and a group of Jedi Younglings in order to prevent them from retreating Florrum.[1] Endente's Sugi arms dealers also used the speeders on Utapau. They were colored with red markings and at least two were modified with a heavy cannon at the front. They were used to chase after Jedi Knight Anakin Skywalker, and Jedi Master Obi-Wan Kenobi, who had stolen their giant kyber crystal.[3]

During the rule of the Galactic Empire, the Imperial Army's Imperial Armor Corps made use of combat speeders in conjunction with other types of vehicles that supported infantry operations.[4]
